About Anabatic Lodge
Anabatic Lodge is the dream of an animal shelter in the Midlands of Ireland that needs your help to grow.
Anabatic Lodge is named after the ex-racehorse Anabatic. Anabatic was born in 1988 and began his training to be a racehorse at the age of two or three. After a relatively successful racing career Anabatic was brought to RACE in the Curragh in Co. Kildare.
Anabatic's owner soon decided to sell him or send him to the factory. After being told about him we decided to travel to the Curragh to meet him and we fell in love. Within a week he settled into a life of semi-retirement.
On March 22nd 2006 Nick, as he was now affectionately known as, suffered injuries after falling into a drain. With damaged back legs and spine, Nick only had power in his front legs.
Without the resources needed to help him, Nick had to be sadly put to sleep on the next day, March 23rd. He was 18 years old and despite his injuries he was in otherwise perfect health.
His death affected us all deeply and because of this we are determined not to allow an animal in our care suffer needlessly or have to be put to sleep if it can be avoided.
His legacy will live on through the Lodge...Your donations will help build a permanent home for the shelter and in turn help care for and secure homes for injured and sick animals and animals that have been abused, abandoned and neglected in Co. Offaly and surrounding areas.
Please use the link below to donate, you don't have to dig deep, every single cent will help make a difference in an animals life.
Thank you for your support,
